I bought these bags because they had a B1G1 sale on them so I thought "why not try them?" I like how they expand to fit thicker foods like roasts. They are also good for bulk storage of things like whole wheat flour that you must keep frozen to keep it from going rancid. The jury is out on the value at this point since they are expensive and you do have to use quite a large "tail" on the bag to allow for repleating before sealing. The instructions say 5" but that was almost not enough on the one thick roast I have frozen so far. I still think when you compare how much you have to use of the regular 11" roll compared to this it will work out about the same in pricing but be more convenient. Thanks, Foodsaver!

I've used a lot of different types of food storage bags but the FoodSaver bags are the best yet. The zipper-lock bags tend to break at the corners of the opening and some do poorly in the freezer. Some other brands of heat-seal bags are too stiff and have to be sealed twice to ensure a solid seal. The FoodSaver bags with their pleats allow a better fill, they seal on the first heat and I have had no problems with their becoming brittle in sub-zero freezing. I've found they take a better vacuum than I was able to achieve with other brands and, overall, I'm happier with them than I've been with any other brand or type freezer bags.

we live on a farm and do a lot of our own butchering.
we did turkeys a few yrs ago and i had nothing to pack them in this would have been great then...we just butcherd a pig and i was able to pack the hams with this bag very excited....when it says extra bag to seal just make sure you give plenty of room as you have to be able to get the end matching and flat...little hard to seal the double bag but i just sealed twice and it worked great...

I bought my Food Saver machine about 2 months ago and I am stoked at how easy it is to use, how much money you can save buying in bulk and food saving it and not to mention the extended "shelf" life of the food you seal. I ordered several bags/rolls and Im set for a long time ! I saved quite a bit of money buying from the Food Saver website vs buying the products from the local stores. I just regret not getting this machine years ago !

I cook in a sous vide and with the expandable bags I can now make steamed puddings and custards right in the mold! For Christmas I vacuum sealed a terrine mold with no problem -- this simply would not have been possible with the older flat bags.
Closing the flaps can be a little fussy, but not excessively so. I strongly recommend these bags to anyone regularly sealing anything more than a couple of inches thick.

This product has been a money saver for this family. We were losing a LOT of hamburger meat before sealing with this product. Now, the hamburger and other meats, have no frostbite, and are fresh. We have ordered more products on line from the Food Saver organization, and have received them in just a couple of days. Very fast shipping when ordering on line. I love my food saver and have used it for things other than food. You won't regret getting this, and I highly recommend the product. In fact, other family members have purchased a Food Saver based on my recommendation.

If you are going to "invest" in such things as stand rib roasts the least you can do is provide excellent safety with freezing. I buy on sale, install in Food Saver bag, freeze, and then can cook the roast from frozen with absolutely no deterioration in quality.

FoodSaver® Expandable Heat Seal Rolls are Great because they streatch to give you that little bit extra for Things that ARE NOT FLAT OR EXACTLLY 11 INCES ACROSS. THIS STREATCHABLE FETURE HELPS ME OUT SO MUCH. Just getting things to go in is worth the money. Also if you leave a few inches at nthe cutoof point you can reseal the Item again using the same piece. I store this piece in the refrigerator so any juices stay fresh too. Great Idea Food Saver.

I have been able to seal and freeze beef rib roasts, turkeys, multiple whole pork loins and more. This is my favorite product thus far, the convenience and ability to hold large meat items has solved a lot of problems for me.

When I saw the Food Saver in the store I had to have one. Last year I got one and I was enjoying it until the 12 to 13 lbs turkey I wanted to Freeze, take to a family dinner that was out of town. I was so disappointed I couldn't use any of the bags that you had on the market at the time, I took it back to the store.! Now that you have the Expandable Heat Seal Rolls I bought the Food Saver System. This Thanksgiving I took two turkeys to the family dinner that was out of town. Thanks.!!!!

In these economic times we have no option but to follow sales but what good is it to buy meat if you freeze it and it comes out all burned. Our FoodSaver and it's many sized bags allow us to keep our foods fresh for long periods. We have also used the smaller bags to package already cooked individual meal for those times we need something fast. Thank you for your products.

I was introduced to FoodSaver technology several years ago, and would not be without it. We buy in bulk, and repackage for storage and freezing. Was amazed that items frozen a couple of years ago will present as if fresh. The pre-formed bags make the process of storage faster, there is less waste, and a real time saver.

Prior to purchasing this product we reviewed the online reviews and felt it would be a product that would fit our needs. We weren't disappointed. This expandable bags is a pain to use. With my new V3880 I received 3 or 4 rolls of them. If you cut one off lets say 4 inches extra bag not 5inches or 6 or 7 it is difficult to fold the bag back up and get it in the sealer to vacuum it closed. You have to cut these bags off much longer then the normal 11 inch bag. If I'm correct the roll is shorter then the rolls of 11 inch thus causing you to blow through a box in no time at all. I will not be buying any of these bags unless I can find a real reason for them.

This proudct looks great and might work great if you have a newer vacuum sealer. I however do not have a newer model, the bags did not seal correctly. It took several attempts before I gave up and used normal bags. I however will say that the nornal bags for my food saver work great!

We could not believe the price offered and with free standard shipping we saved even more money. We have used the food saver and related products for years. It has saved us a ton of money. The food stays fresher longer. We use it to keep things dry on camping trips also. We love it.

I bought a real nice 5 rib standing roast and was not able to cook it right away. I was so worried, it has been in the freezer for over 2 weeks. I got an e-mail from foodsaver and to my suprise I found this expandable heat seal. Perfect! I ordered it and I got it in less than 2 days, brushed the ice off the rib roast and Walla! As good as fresh! It's hard to find these standing rib roast, so I buy them when I find them. I'm thinking of using the same bag to marinate it in, when I am ready to cook it.

I have used the Food Saver products for over 5 years. I recommend to everyone that has not purchased a vacuum sealer. We use it for everything. We process our our pork and beef so it saves time and money on packaging.
