this is a lovely machine. it fits well on the counter because of its upright design. The features of normal or gentle are really great. It didn't smash my freshly made rolls when I bagged them. If I follow the directions things go a lot better.
There are a couple things I find not up to my expectations. One is the port at the bottom of the machine is difficult to get to in order to firmly secure the port. I also feel that I lose a lot of the bag with the auto seal. I have a difficult time getting it in to start the process and then it uses 1 and 1/4 inches of the bag.
I have used Food Saver for years, but this one is really fancy.

The Food Saver products are improving.
Being able to stop the vacuum and seal is their best improvement since I have started using their produce.
The fault I have with the V3440 is the amount of bag material wasted on the seal edge, it just a waste.
One (1) whole inch is lost in order to activate the sealer.

This is the third Foodsaver I have purchased. I love it. I took my older one to leave at the cottage for vacuum packing fish. I bought one last year for my mom, she was always wanting to come by and vacuum seal her meat from the grocery store. I also got one for my daughter. I love having the jar attachments for dry food storage, nuts, rice, pastas, ect. The hands free feature is so handy. It is also nice to have the bag cutter and roll storage built right in to the unit. .It is the best thing for storing meat in the freezer, no freezer burn on it.. Also keeps my garden harvest fresh in the freezer. When I shop at Costco I can break down food into smaller portions and they are always fresh. I would highly reccommend this product!

i would have given ease of use an excellent use score but the instructions do not explain all the buttons in detail. if it has auto liquid sensor why do I have a moist food setting?

I love the ease with which I am able to vacuum seal all our stuff. I especially love the jar sealer. I can now buy nuts, chocolate chips, dried fruits and seal them with the jar sealer and have them last a much longer time and in a much safer environment, protecting them against pests, humid conditions, etc. The marinator is the greatest! We are able to marinate meats in a much shorter timeframe and with much juicier and tastier results. I tell everyone I know about this fantastic machine! It is the best product I've bought in decades. It helps me save money by being able to buy in bulk and vacuum sealing the stuff to ensure longer storage time and better results at the end when products are brought out to use.

This is my 3rd one. Both still work, but am passing down the 1st one. The 2nd one stays in the RV. Have not used all the features yet, but it seals quickly. Do not like the auto seal because it uses 3/4 of an inch extra bag over my other ones - especially when making a bag. Over time, that adds up. If resealing a bag & the edges have curled a little, it is very difficult to get into the narrow slot.
I especially like it for resealing cracker sleeves, all types of chips, cereal bags, etc. Even the plastic bulk frozen vegetable bags - keeps most of that ice from forming.
Love the marinade for fahita meat. Both have eventually cracked so need need new ones. Have not tried the quick marinade feature just yet.

Use, if you've used a sealer before, is intuitive. It seals fast and secure and the vacuum feature with its dry/moist selections is a great feature. I've used it to marinate and to seal winter veggies for the freezer and it has done its work fast and securely. I had another brand vacuum freezer that left enough moisture and air in to where you could see frost in the bag as the bag froze but the V3440 bags are still as clear as when I put them into the freezer. The V3440 also seems to give me a more vacuumed-out bag than the other unit. In all we are very happy with the unit and getting it on sale just added more frosting to the cake. We have a farm and are planning on giving the unit a real workout next summer.

I love my new food saver!

This is my third Food Saver. My mother had one of the first Food Savers and when she passed away I inherited hers and fell in love with it. Through several moves it was damaged and I bought a new Food Saver. This time I really didn't need a new one but I love the upright design(takes up less room on the counter). I use it for everything. I repack all my meats and poultry in Food Saver bags before putting in the freezer, no more freezer burn. I never waste leftovers, I freeze them in individual servings, then pop them into a Food Saver bag, vacuum seal and they are ready for another meal. My best was I had a huge bathrobe that wouldn't fit into my suitcase, I stuffed it into a Food Saver Bag, vacuum sealed it and it was flat as a pancake and fit perfectly. Needless to say, I can't live without my Food Saver!

I recently had to replace my old Foodsaver model 2450 as the lid latch finally failed after several years of daily use. I chose the model 3440 to replace it. I found the new model to be very difficult to operate efficiently. I wasted approximately 40 per cent of the bagging materials. The machine simply is not designed very well and I was quite disappointed with it. I returned it for a full refund from the retailer. I have subsequently purchased a new model 2450 which I believe to be your best product. Please do not discontinue the model 2450.

I've used vacuum sealers for many years but the V3440 is by far the best ever used! It's got wonderful features like the gentle va regular vacuum cycle that gives you the ultimate control for a good seal. Also the roll of bag material stored in the machine with a proper cut-off bar really is quite handy. I'm sure anyone will find the V3440 an ideal vacuum sealer!

This Foodsaver V3440 sealer is great! I was sick and tired of having to through out freezer damaged meat and vegetables, we all know the high cost of food these days so this was an easy choice for me and my wife to make. We bought our daughters the same model for Christmas presents this year.

The vacuum sealer works well. The canisters do not. They hold vacuum for only a few hours before the vacuum is lost. I have had these canisters for each sealer I have had for over 10 years, and not one canister,new or old, will hold the vacuum for more than a few hours...they are worthless!!

I love love love my new machine. The one I just replaced was 10 years old and still "kinda" worked. This new one has a ton of features! Everyone must have one if they want to save money!
I purchase meat in bulk and we have a large garden for the summer. If i cannot can it, I freezer bag it.

My wife is very impressed with this model, we had an earlier flat model 2420 I believe and used it all the time. This one has cutter and roll storage,and sort of automatic operation and came with some extra items 2 rolls and bags. It seems to have more suction than the older one we had too.

We have had several foodsavers over the past several years. The original back in the 1970 seemed to last longer than the newer versions. We will keep purchasing them for our gardening needs, saves us money and the fresh grown vegetables taste so much better when the snow is blowing

My old food saver wore out, and I decided to upgrade this time. I have been very happy with the canisters, I use them to keep my lunch meat fresh throughout the week. The saver is easy to use, and the built in roll storage is great, with having everything you need in one spot.

this is so easy to use,it does all the work for you. I can save money by buying in bulk. I open chips can reseal them they keep fresh. Doesn't take up any room. I love my sealer,use it every day. And who doen't want to save money.....I would recommend this to any one. ..

Unless using a new bag it is very differcult to insert for sealing. It wastes 2 1/2 inches of bag material per new bag. The cost of bag material sure makes a great deal for Food Savor but not the consumer. Some improvements but they don't offset the faults. I will look for another product that is easy to use with less waste of the costly bagging material . This is my 4th Food saver. I have enjoyed your products and trust your engineers can design a product with less waste,more user friendly.

I love this product so much I bought one for each of my daughters this year! Not only is the vacuum & seal process extremely easy and thorough, the upright construction saves on the storage of the machine. I certainly recommend this highly!
