This machine is so much nicer & easier to use, than our previous sealer. My husband even uses it! Love that you don't have to hold down while sealing, like our older model. This one works automatically. You just put edges in & it takes over from there! ;)
Thanks food saver! You've made our life easier & left overs stay fresh longer-stretching our money on food!

I have been using sealers for the past 25 yrs, this by far is the worst I've ever used. It waste bags, have the time doesn't vacuum out, allowing air to freezer burn, won't seal other types of bags. Very picky, over heats quickly. not user friendly at all.

This is my second purchase of a Foodsaver product because I guess I wore the last one out after a year & 1\2. with the older model I could seal the bags @ about 1\4 inch in from the edge. This model MAKES you put the bag in by about 1 1\2 inch wasting bag that is about 40 bucks for one box. This machine is VERY picky on how you put the bags in for sealing. Overall I am NOT satisfied with this machine. PLEASE!!!!! Bring back the older model....

This machine is the biggest waste of money for any vacuum sealer. I have used multiple vacuum sealers, and they all seem the same. You cant seal more than a few things at a time before the piece of junk overheats, or just stops pulling the appropriate amount of air from the bag. Biggest piece of junk I have ever bought.

This is my 1st Foodsaver. Pretty happy so far. I will agree with the ones who state the machine is "picky" on how its loaded, but once you get the hang of it, that issue goes away. I was a little concerned about the cost of the bags, but when you order on this site and use promo codes you can get these things for a steal, expecially when you consider the the savings on food. I have used it to freeze cooked roast, mashed potatoes and lots of other cooked foods and all kids of raw items.... LOVE IT!

For the price, the 3820 has all of the features we were looking for . The vertical style makes storage very easy. This unit handles our needs very well.

This product works well for the average person that wants to save left overs or save a couple of meals. where it lacks is, as stated in the other reviews, it overheats to easily when wanting to save several items at a time. the appearnce is great! upright position is great! but needs to be able to handle bigger jobs.

The V3820 is not worth the frustration because of the following reasons.
1) It seems it wants to seal before finishing vacuuming therefor not getting all the air out and causing you to redo the process again wasting bags.
2) If you are packing a lot of things as I do, it tends to over heat, causing you to waste a lot of time in getting your large task done.
3) It is very picky about sealing liquid things such as potato soup or collard greens. Most times it won’t seal at all with those liquids. (Yes, I am using the correct settings and Yes, I followed the directions).
4) The most costly thing about this machine is the amount of bag it wastes. (the manufacture) sell the product based on saving money however, the amount of waste at the top and bottom of the seal is money out of the pocket.
5) The door is very flimsy and will not close properly, looks cheap.
I have used a V2830 several times and loved it, which is what prompted me to buy my own food saver. I would much rather have the older model. I can honestly say newer is not always better. I do recommend them Just not this one.
