I recently upgraded from an older model to this one and have to say it was a great choice. I loved using my old FoodSaver but it was manual. This one is fully automatic, just slip in the bag and walk away. When you come back it's done. The FoodSaver has saved me so much money since I live in a household of 2. I can buy in bulk, portion out the servings, and freeze. I hope to find new ways this year to use my new and improved model. I'm just thrilled with the automatic features and the built in hose. In a word, this product is AWESOME!

We had a Foodsaver product years ago, it functioned as advertised and saved us a good amount of money. The V3880 is not just an equivalent, good product it's a much more versatile unit. I've already used the marinate feature and it works better than I expected. We've had our foodsaver for two weeks and I wish we'd have bought it years ago. We're using it at least every other day, I'm looking forward to the savings by not wasting food from spoilage.

It is so convenient to just take whatever food needs to be sealed, reach across the counter and do it. It is, also, great to be able to chop ingredients such as carrots, onions and celery, and have them available to just take out of the fridge, unseal, use and reseal. I also love the new vegetable steaming bags.

When the sealer works it is great. Unfortunately it works only about 40% of the time. It fails to turn on when the bad is inserted after one has already been sealed. It turns off completely after about three bags. Always remember to keep your receipt to return to the store to get another one.

This is my first Foodsaver and although I have only had it a week I have only good things to say about it! The Jar sealers are a snap to use . I purchased both the wide mouth and regular sealers. By re packaging the bulk sized containers of cottage cheese ,mayo and sour cream into quart size mason jars everything stays fresh untill it's consumed and tastes as good as when first opened! . I have also found great buys in bulk ground beef that when repackaged will stay fresh in my freezer withouth fear of freezer burn for several years.This machine is a great inflation fighter. I also apreciate the generous coupons you offer too!

I LOVE my V3880 so much. This is my first Foodsaver and my new favorite "toy". It took a bit of time to figure out how much bag to cut and how to place the bag to get it sealed, but now after 2 weeks I'm a pro! I have sealed everything I can get my hands on as I find it so easy and so much fun. My husband is now convinced that I'm just going shopping for more food and items to seal. If only I could tell him that wasn't true! I know don't know how I lived without one for so long.

I purchased the V3880, to replace a much older model which still works fine. I will still use the older model when my daughter and I "mass" package after a huge shopping spree, but let me say this...the V3880 is absolutely the top of the line! The automatic operation is stunning. And the retractable hose for sealing canisters and canning jars is amazing...
I am very VERY pleased with this unit...so much so, that I wonder why I hadn't purchased it sooner?

Bought this unit to replace one that served me well for 7 years. This model is so advanced, I'm sure it will serve me for years to come. An avid online shopper, I researched this unit a long time before I choose it. Here are the things I am tickled about:1, The price on the Food Saver website was the best I found any where. 2. The upright design of the unit is a great space saver and I can leave it out on counter without sacrificing too much precious cooking space. 3.The unit is very solid, well constructed and very powerful. I like the built in compartment for roll dispensing and cutting. It is super easy and fast to use.I bought this for everday needs but my main purpose for buying is to use for my new hobby of Sous Vide cooking. It is vital in this type of coooking to have a flawless seal and this unit certainly does it. I will be using this unit several times a week and am very confident it will hold up well for several years.

I have model v2480 and works intermittently. Just purchased model V3880, which is no comparison. V3880 I feel wastes bags. You don't really have control of how much bag you want to use. The sealer is too difficult to navigate. I made 6 bags. Took me about 15 minutes. Tried to vacuum and seal the food and was successful with sealing only one. All the others sealed but did not vacuum. The machine does not stop when you press stop, it only stopped when I turned the machine off. Extremely time consuming and I am not satisfied at all. I am returning this item to the store. If I could get my V2480 repaired, I would be a happy customer.

We purchased the V3880 sealing system and found it easy to use. The FoodSaver also has a lot of features that our old one didn't have like gentil seal. The old one still works but does not have the features of the new one.

One drawback: I haven't actually USED my FoodSaver yet! However, my neighbor has one of her own, and has told me many times that she can't imagine ever living without this appliance on her kitchen counter. Good enough for me!

This is my second Food Saver. My first was a 2830 that I liked very much. It is about 21/2 years old and was giving me some problems like not vacuuming. I ordered the V3880 and today we cut our Prime Rib into 3/4 inch steaks The first three went fine and then it would not vacuum, only seal. I tried a few more and ruined maybe five bags before calling customer service. They were very nice and tried to help me. What I found out about the product was that I could only do two bags from an11 inch roll without waiting 15 minutes for the machine to cool down before doing two more. We buy our beef, pork, chickens and fish all at one time and this just would not work for us. The product is nice and if you don't need very much done at one time it works fine.I am however returning it UPS in the morning for a refund and maybe I will try the Game Saver.

This product was easy to set up. I have it sitting on my counter and use it for everything. Keeps food longer and fresher. Would recommend this product to everyone who is tired of throwing food away because it went bad. Great product...
