Straight out of box, first bag didn't seal. I used the included Food Saver bags. I noticed and resealed. Later after cleanup, when transferring to the freezer, I noticed another bag that hadn't sealed.
This was my first attempt using this appliance. I hope that either my skills improve or it gets broken in to where the appliance performs better.
I was very excited about using this thing, but now, I am nervous that I am going to get a bunch of freezer burned fish this winter.

I used this to put up deer sausage. I had others that would just over heat, this one went alot longer. For the price, it is a good value

Rcvd mine in a timely manner, great price, works great for me, can't wait still 2013 deer season to try it out, but have been using it on my trout fishing trips to ARK. and it was a hit the the guys I was fishing with, just wish Food Saver would let me be there spokesman for the outdoorsman (HINT HINT), since I' am retired. IF YOU DO NOT HAVE ONE ,GET ONE.

I read a lot of the negative reviews, and was worried about buying, however, so far I'm very pleased with the product. I sealed some sugar and was very impressed. The bag vacuumed so tight that it felt as hard as a brick. I haven't sealed a lot for an extended period of time, but so far I'm satisfied.

We have bought 5 of these in the last 3 years and everyone has quit working after using 2 or 3 times. If this is a lightweight product and should not be used to package meat we should be told that. We will not be buying another they cost to much to use one time and throw away

We have had a Food saver for many years and it finally gave up the ghost. We bought a new GameSaver® Outdoorsman Premium Kit. At this point I have used it to pack Duck and Venison. Last year we found a piece of salmon in the back of the freezer that had been packed two (2) years previos. The fish was tender and flavorfull. I would recommend this product to anyone who buys in bulk or hunts and fishes.

This is such an amazing product! We process our own venison and other wild game as well as vacuum packing bulk groceries. This model is amazing. I love that I can control how much air is vacuumed out by pressing the seal button to cut it short for softer foods. I haven't had the opportunity to use the 12volt adapter yet but hope to do so this year.
I see negative reviews and can't believe we are discussing the same product. I would gladly buy this product again.

This is my 3rd food saver, The last two gave out in less than a year. I received this one as a gift.When it works it is great, but I have yet to have one last past 12 months. Hopefully this one will last longer. I do love the product,but hate the short life span.

I have now had 2 FoodSaver products, and have been dissappointed with both units. We hunt and fish. We have discovered that the GameSaver will NOT pull a complete vacuum (the cycle is too short), nor seal the bags. I have double sealed the bottoms of the bags and placed towels above the meat to absorb liquids from the meat. NOTHING seams to help the unit perform as professed. I will NOT buy another FoodSaver product.

At the present time I am very disapointed in the
GameSaver. It does not want to completly seal all
the way across the bag. It seems that when you have
moisture in the bag it will not seal. I'm still trying to see
if i can get it to work.

i am sure that this product is wonderful but i made holes in all of the four plastic bags that came with the vacuum system...find another way of packaging it is horrible thanks

The Gamesaver Silver we purchased did not perform as expected or advertised. It is supposed to be for heavy and repetitive use and yet we were only able to vacuum and seal approx. 15-20 bags of Elk meat befor it indicated it was overheated. We read the instructions and did not try to rapidly seal alot of bags in quick succession, we worked at a slow and even pace. The unit did not feel hot to the touch but was shut down anyway. We got out our older 2000 series sealer and finished sealing up 200+ lbs. of meat non-stop with little to no problems. We have always had good luck with Foodsaver products in the past but we were very disappointed in the Gamesaver unit. We returned the Gamesaver and are going to try a different series sealer.

I had another model of food saver and was not too happy with it as it wasted alot of bag material. Then I bought the Game Saver Silver, it works great, seals bag everytime and I waste very little bag material. Second year of using it, so far we have cut up and packaged 20 deer and beef and veggies, highly recommend it.

Love it... my 3 yr old grandson and 5 yr old nephew helped me do this. Was a piece of cake. Couldn't be easier. Can't wait to try the marinator. Did an awesome job. Don't know why people have problems, sealed perfect first time. Love it. I don't know what else to say, except I wish I would have picked this one up years ago but got an awesome internet price. Well worth it, and the payment plan makes it that much better. Thanks food saver...

For my first attempt I made a bag following instructions, or so I thought. I then placed the item in the bag and closed the lid, hit the vac/seal button then waited for the red light to come on. I waited and waited. I then repositioned the item and tried it again and again. After about 10 minutes of trying and about ready to throw the sealer out the window, I asked my husband to please help! After taking a look at it, it seems I didn't seal the bottom of the bag properly so air was leaking out thus making it impossible to seal, duh! After using it and learning what to do, which is relatively simple, so you see you can teach an old dog new tricks, I am now happy with my Game Saver Silver!
